From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be dissolved, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will take over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets. We will become part of NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB. You can continue to use this website to find the information you need, which remains relevant for the Hull area.

About the improvement programme

People affected by brain tumors or CNS cancers are at the core of this new programme. Macmillan are working closely with NHS leaders in the Humber and Yorkshire regions to understand the reality of life for people living with this rare and complex cancer.

This work will make sure that people affected by such cancers can have a meaningful involvement in the improvement of local services.

The complexity of brain tumors and CNS cancers, and the consequences of treatment, can be overwhelming. People affected by cancer have told Macmillan they need more support in adjusting to life after treatment, knowing what to expect, where to get support for friends and family and understanding what’s normal.

Living with and beyond a brain tumour or CNS cancer is not just about saving lives; it’s about the quality of a person’s life after treatment has ended. Macmillan also recognises that family, friends and carers need support and information before, during and after treatment.

Working together with NHS Hull CCG and other partners, Macmillan are working to improve the whole cancer experience from early diagnosis, treatment to living with and beyond cancer and end of life care.

The Macmillan improvement programme for brain tumours and CNS cancers is working with the NHS in Hull, the Vale of YorkEast RidingNorth LincolnshireNorth East Lincolnshire and Scarborough and Ryedale who are also the programme’s host.
