From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be dissolved, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will take over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets. We will become part of NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB. You can continue to use this website to find the information you need, which remains relevant for the Hull area.

Local clinical leaders are praising the phenomenal local vaccine effort with 40,000 people in Hull and East Riding receiving their booster vaccination in the last 10 days.

The NHS is prioritising bookings for boosters and is urging people to book an appointment to guarantee their jab – as it aims to offer every eligible adult their booster dose by the end of December 2021.

New local vaccine sites being added to the national booking service from next week include Ennerdale Leisure Centre** in Hull and Beverley Racecourse – offering thousands more appointments – with other sites across Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire significantly increasing their capacity to deliver vaccines.

**Please note that there will be a Walk-in vaccination clinic on Monday 20 December from 9.30 am – 5 pm at Ennerdale Leisure Centre, Sutton Road, Hull. Over 16s only first, second and boosters. Pfizer vaccine.

Booked appointments offer people the best experience, with much quicker checking in at the venue, and minimum time spent queuing, particularly in the cold weather where venues are not able to accommodate everyone waiting inside.

Book online at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or by ringing 119. The national booking site shows good availability for late evenings and weekends, along with daytime appointments.

In addition to the new site at Ennerdale Leisure Centre, vaccine appointments are available in Hull at the MKM Stadium, which has increased its daily appointments from 1500 to 2000. People can also book their jabs at Alf Marshall Centre in Bransholme, East Hull Family Practice, Diadem Health Centre, the Princes Quay vaccination centre, Hull Royal Infirmary and a number of local pharmacies in their community.

In East Riding of Yorkshire vaccination sites are available at Beverley, (with Beverley Racecourse a new addition from early next week), Bridlington, Cottingham, Driffield, Goole, Hessle, Hornsea, Market Weighton, Willerby and Withernsea.

A range of clinics are also available through GP Practices in Brough, Gilberdyke, Goole, Hedon, Howden and Snaith. GPs will contact their patients to book into these clinics when it’s their turn.

Local sites will be offering appointments via the booking service up to Christmas Eve and people should check the national site for availability between Christmas and New Year.

Dr James Crick, Associate Medical Director, NHS Hull Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and Hull City Council, said:

“The booster vaccine offers our best protection against the new Omicron variant of the virus. The swift response from clinical teams across Hull to step up the vaccination booster programme has been amazing.

“The response from the public has been brilliant too, as all sites are seeing excellent take-up for appointments via the national booking service.

“It’s not too late to register with the Humber Coast and Vale Vaccination Programme Bank. There are opportunities for several roles in the vaccine delivery programme. They may include admin, healthcare assistant and vaccine delivery positions. Anyone who is interested should email: hyp-tr.hcvprogrammebank@nhs.net

Dr Anne Jeffreys, local GP and East Riding of Yorkshire CCG chairperson, said:

“I’m delighted to announce Beverley Racecourse will once again be opening as a vaccination centre early next week, to help drive the national effort to vaccinate people with the booster. I would encourage everyone who is eligible to visit the National Booking Service to book their guaranteed appointment. People should regularly check the service to see availability in their local area, as new appointments are added daily.”

“Our teams have been working hard to increase the capacity of our sites so we can protect the public as quickly as possible. We have thousands of additional bookable appointments available with more added each day.

“My simple message now to the public is to get a booster and protect yourself, protect your loved ones, and make sure you have a safe and covid-free Christmas.”
