From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be dissolved, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will take over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets. On Thursday 5th September a Friends Against Scams workshop has been organised for Hull Champions and their community members to attend.

This is being held at the CCG Boardroom (Wilberforce Court, Alfred Gelder Street)  1.30 – 3pm.

 

Friends Against Scams is a National Trading Standards Scams Team Initiative, which aims to protect and prevent people from becoming victims of scams by empowering people to take a stand against scams.

  • Scams cost the UK economy £5-10 Billion per year
  • 53% of people over 65 have been targeted by scams
  • Only 5% of scams are reported
  • Our statistics indicate that the average scam victim has lost over £3000

 

Amanda from NatWest will deliver a 45 minute presentation with the opportunity ask questions afterwards. Topics covered will include types and examples of scams, how to spot a victim and look after your friends and family, how young people are targeted, what you can do to protect yourself and others.
