From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be dissolved, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will take over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets. We will become part of NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB. You can continue to use this website to find the information you need, which remains relevant for the Hull area.

Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs / EqIAs)

We routinely conduct equality impact assessments on all policies, which can be found in the policies section on our website. Note, where there is not a separate equality impact assessment link the EqIA is incorporated into the body of the policy document.

We recently conducted a review of the equality impact assessment process across the commissioning function, which includes:

  • Strategy development
  • Service reviews
  • Services specifications
  • Business case development
  • Development of clinical policies
  • Procurement and contract management

It was recognised that EqIAs needed to be strengthened to better capture what has already been done to promote equality, and to include more meaningful data and engagement on equality issues.

A tool has been developed to support CCG staff to conduct effective equality impact assessments.  Staff receive regular training around the completion of Equality Impact Assessments along with other equalities training.
