From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be dissolved, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will take over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets. We will become part of NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB. You can continue to use this website to find the information you need, which remains relevant for the Hull area.

Members of the LGBTQ+ community in Humber and North Yorkshire can now find tailored health and wellbeing support easily thanks to a new digital hub on the Let’s Get Better website.

Launched in conjunction with Pride month, the fresh content has been introduced as part of the Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership’s Let’s take pride in our health campaign to make finding support in our region easier for people who identify as LGBTQ+.

The webpages, co-designed with members of the LGBTQ+ community and with other health and care partners, creates a comprehensive hub, allowing people to find information and contact details for local services.

The pages feature information on topics such as mental health and emotional wellbeing, screening programmes, sexual health, drug and alcohol use, and eating disorders. Users will also find information on how to register with a GP practice and how to change your name and gender on your medical record.

Bonnie Gray, Vice Chair of the LGBTQ+ Staff Network at Hull University Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, said: “As the Vice Chair, I am very excited to be working in partnership with local organisations to bring health and wellbeing information to the LGBTQ+ community.

“We know from research that members of our community are far more likely to experience mental health problems than non-LGBTQ+ people, as well as being less likely in general to access healthcare; this is even more pronounced within the trans+ community.

“The campaign Let’s take pride in our health is about educating our LGBTQ+ population about what is available locally to give them a well-rounded picture of inclusive health and wellbeing support. It will live on after Pride in Hull and all other local Pride events have taken place and will hopefully be a one-stop-shop for our community to access a wealth of useful information.”

Anja Hazebroek, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for Humber and North Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership, said: “I’m thrilled we have been able to launch this new digital hub that encompasses all health and care resources for our LGBTQ+ community.

“We have worked with health and care partners across Humber and North Yorkshire to develop the campaign and digital hub, ensuring it is truly reflective and caters to our population’s needs. We recognise there is much more work to be done, but this is a step in the right direction for us as a health and care system. Everyone in our region deserves to get the support they need for their health and wellbeing.”

There are several Pride events taking place across our geography in the coming months:

Members of the public can follow the Let’s Get Better Facebook page to see more LGBTQ+ content and to find information to celebrate Pride month and embrace our diversities.
