From 1 July 2022, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) will be dissolved, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) will take over the responsibility for NHS functions and budgets. We will become part of NHS Humber and North Yorkshire ICB. You can continue to use this website to find the information you need, which remains relevant for the Hull area.

HM Prison Service – Humber

Why has the HMP Humber joined Working Voices?

We are proud to work in partnership with Working Voices promoting health and well-being in our workplace. Joining affords us great opportunities to ensure the ongoing health and well-being of our staff.

What HM Prison Service does

We keep those sentenced to prison in custody, helping them lead law-abiding and useful lives, both while they are in prison and after they are released.

HMPS is an executive agency, sponsored by the Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service.

About HMP Humber

HMP Humber is a Category ‘C’ Resettlement Prison that aims to provide positive resettlement options for those people sentenced within the local Contract Package Area.

It provides a regime that is focused on the provision of purposeful activity, which aims to address the needs of the people in our care and help them to reduce their risk of reoffending once returned into the community.

HMP Humber directly employs over 450 staff to manage the above arrangements including both Operational and Non-operational grades at a variety of levels.  In addition, we are supported by Stakeholders who provide Human Resources, Finance, IT Healthcare, Education and L&D.
