Wilberforce sixth form college
Why has Wilberforce joined Working Voices?
“At Wilberforce College we are passionate about supporting the well-being of both our students and staff. We are excited to be joining forces with the Humber Working Voices initiative to promote physical and mental health within the College.
“The links and services offered through Humber Working Voices will strengthen our Well-being Strategy and give our College community a voice regarding important changes in NHS health-care within the area.
“Well-being has a major impact on staff and students experience at the College and it is fundamental to our ethos and culture that we proactively support and encourage healthy lifestyles. The health checks and mental health awareness activities provided through Humber Working Voices will be highly beneficial for the College as a whole. ”
About Wilberforce Sixth Form College
“Sixth form colleges are the most successful type of ‘sixth form’ nationally, and Wilberforce is a great example. The strength of Wilberforce comes from our focus as a specialist college, delivering exclusively to 16-19 year olds. This means that the courses that we offer, our staffing and resources are all targeted at helping young people to achieve their full potential, within an environment designed especially for them.
“Our aim is ‘to be an outstanding college’. We work with the region’s young people and the community to raise aspirations, and enable all our students to fulfil their potential.
“Our Core Values are:
• We conduct ourselves with integrity and respect for all
• We make students’ experience central.
• We value individuals and promote self-esteem
• We work as a team
• We encourage innovation, creativity and enjoyment
• We aim for excellence in everything we do
“The range of courses on offer is outstanding. Wilberforce students achieve exceptional results, and their track record in winning top university places and going on to exciting careers is second to none. There’s the opportunity to take part in drama, music, sports and charity events, or simply to make new friends and broaden social horizons.
“Wilberforce is the top choice for most young people in the area and the whole College community are delighted to have recently gained an excellent Ofsted Report, published March 2018.”
